 About the RMIT Research Stipend Scholarship

The RMIT University Scholarships are funded by both the Australian Government’s Research Training Program (RTP) and RMIT itself. These awards are intended to support outstanding students undertaking graduate research degrees. Once you apply for admission, you will automatically be considered for all eligible scholarships during RMIT’s selection rounds.

International students awarded the scholarship will also receive an RTP International Tuition Fee Offset Scholarship (RIFOS) or RMIT Research International Tuition Fee Scholarship (RRITFS), which completely covers tuition.

 Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the RMIT University Scholarship 2026, applicants must:

  • Hold a four-year Bachelor’s degree with Honours in a related field OR
  • Possess a Master’s degree with at least 25% research component OR
  • Show equivalent academic achievement, which may include professional experience or publications
  • Achieve at least a credit average in their final year of study
  • Not have previously completed a graduate research degree at the same or higher level
  • Not have previously held an RMIT-funded or Commonwealth-funded research scholarship unless it ended within 6 months of the start date
