University of Guelph Master’s Scholarship (Overview)
The Dry Bean Breeding & Computational Biology Lab at the University of Guelph is currently accepting applications for two fully funded Master’s positions starting in Fall 2025. These positions are offered through a Graduate Research Assistantship and include full tuition coverage plus a living stipend.

University of Guelph Master’s Scholarship (Project Focus)
The research will explore seed coat color stability and darkening in cranberry and pinto beans using cutting-edge multi-omics approaches, including:

Hyperspectral imaging
Seed coat darkening impacts consumer preference, marketability, and shelf life of dry beans. This project seeks to identify genetic and epigenetic markers that can guide plant breeding for stable, non-darkening bean varieties.

To be considered, applicants should have:

A Bachelor’s degree in:
→ Genetics, Plant Science, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or related fields -
Experience or strong interest in:
→ Genomics, Epigenetics, GWAS, EWAS, Bioinformatics tools -
Strong skills in:
→ Data analysis, scientific writing, communication -
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
