Ferris (WNF) Scholarship to help academically qualified international students reduce the financial burden of higher education.

This merit-based scholarship is automatically awarded to eligible first-time undergraduate students and is based on two key criteria:

  • High School GPA (on a 4.0 scale)

  • Standardized Test Scores (ACT, SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, or PTE)

Woodbridge N. Ferris Scholarship Award Levels

Each scholarship level below is renewable annually for up to four years, provided students meet the cumulative GPA requirement.

1. Founder’s Scholarship

  • Award: Up to $10,000/year (up to $40,000 total)

  • GPA: 3.9

  • Renewal GPA: 3.3 cumulative


2. President’s Scholarship

  • Award: $6,500/year (up to $26,000 total)

  • GPA: 3.7

3. Provost’s Scholarship

  • Award: $5,500/year (up to $22,000 total)

  • GPA: 3.5

  • Renewal GPA: 3.0 cumulative


4. Dean’s Scholarship

  • Award: $4,500/year (up to $18,000 total)

  • GPA: 3.25 – 3.49

  • Renewal GPA: 3.0 cumulative


5. Ferris Crimson Scholarship

  • Award: $3,000/year (up to $12,000 total)

  • GPA: 3.0

  • Test Scores: ACT 21 | SAT 1040 | TOEFL 65 | IELTS 6.0 | PTE 46 | Duolingo 95

  • Renewal GPA: 2.75 cumulative

Note: SAT scores are based on the combined Evidence-Based Reading & Writing and Math sections for exams taken after March 1, 2016.


International Transfer Student Scholarship

Are you an international student transferring to Ferris State University from another institution? You may qualify for the Ferris International Transfer Scholarship, designed to make U.S. education more affordable for transfer students.

Scholarship Details

  • Award: $5,500/year (up to $16,500 over three years)

  • Eligibility Requirements:

    • Minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA

    • At least 12 accepted transfer credit hours

    • Enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credits)

    • Undergraduate program only

  • Renewal Requirement: 3.0 cumulative GPA and compliance with Ferris State’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy

Note: Canadian students are not eligible for this scholarship, as they do not pay international tuition rates.
