TWAS-SN Bose Postgraduate Fellowship (Eligibility Criteria)

To be eligible for the TWAS-SN Bose Postgraduate Fellowship, applicants must:

  • Be under 35 years old as of December 31, 2025

  • Hold citizenship of a developing country, excluding India

  • Not hold residency or visas for India or any developed country

  • Hold a Master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Mathematics

  • Have completed at least 5 years of combined undergraduate and postgraduate study

  • Be accepted by a faculty member at S.N. Bose Centre as a PhD supervisor

  • Provide proof of English proficiency if prior education was not in English

  • Commit to returning to home country after fellowship completion

  • Not take on other assignments during the fellowship

  • Be financially responsible for any accompanying family


TWAS-SN Bose Postgraduate Fellowship (Selection Timeline)

  • Deadline to request Preliminary Acceptance Letter: August 16, 2025

  • Last date for S.N. Bose to issue Acceptance Letters: August 31, 2025

  • Final application submission to TWAS: September 22, 2025 (Midnight CEST)

Tip: Apply for the acceptance letter well in advance. Only letters dated in 2025 will be considered valid.


TWAS-SN Bose Postgraduate Fellowship (Required Documents)

You will need the following documents to apply:

  • Completed SNB Form (download from TWAS site)

  • Updated CV/Resume

  • Preliminary Acceptance Letter from an S.N. Bose faculty member

  • Proof of English proficiency (if applicable)

  • Scanned academic transcripts and degree certificates

  • Proof of intent to return to your home country

 How to Apply for TWAS-SN Bose Fellowship

  1. Find a Supervisor at S.N. Bose National Centre by visiting Click Here

  2. Email the Dean (Academic Programme) at deanap@bose.res.in with your CV and the completed SNB Form, requesting a Preliminary Acceptance Letter.

  3. Once accepted, submit your application online at the TWAS Online Portal.

  4. Ensure all required documents are uploaded before September 22, 2025.

Applications without a valid Preliminary Acceptance Letter will not be considered.
