MOE Taiwan Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the MOE Taiwan Scholarship 2025, applicants must:
- Be a Nigerian citizen.
- Have completed high school or higher education with strong academic performance.
- Not hold citizenship of Taiwan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau.
- Not be an Overseas Compatriot student of Taiwan.
- Not be enrolled in a Taiwanese institution at the same degree level.
- Not be an exchange student under university agreements.
- Not have received the Taiwan MOE Scholarship for more than five years.
- Not be a recipient of any other Taiwan government or institutional scholarship.
- Have good moral character and no criminal record.
MOE Taiwan Scholarship Benefits
Financial Coverage:
- Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees: Up to NTD 40,000 (approximately $1,250) per semester.
- Living Stipend:
- Undergraduate students: NTD 15,000/month (approximately $468)
- Master’s students: NTD 20,000/month (approximately $625)
- Doctoral students: NTD 20,000/month (approximately $625)
Duration of Award:
- Undergraduate Program: Up to 4 years.
- Master’s Program: Up to 2 years.
- Doctoral Program: Up to 4 years.

Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents:
- Completed Taiwan Scholarship Application Form
- Copy of Nigerian Passport
- Educational Certificates and Transcripts (Authenticated English or Chinese translations required if documents are in another language)
- Proof of Admission to a Taiwanese University (Application form, proof of application fee payment, acknowledgment from the university, etc.)
- Language Proficiency Proof:
- For non-English programs: TOCFL Level 3 or above.
- For English-taught programs: TOEFL or equivalent proof of English proficiency.
- If the chosen program is not on the Ministry of Education’s English Program List, a university-issued confirmation of an all-English curriculum is required.
- Two Reference Letters from academic or professional referees, sealed and signed.
- Signed Taiwan Scholarship Terms of Agreement.

- Visit the Official Website: Access the Taiwan Ministry of Education portal.
- Apply for University Admission: Submit applications to eligible Taiwanese universities within their deadlines.
- Submit Scholarship Application: Send all required documents before May 15, 2025.
