About the John Thompson Scholarship
The John Thompson Scholarship was established in 2008 to honour the legacy of John Thompson, a major contributor to Ireland’s media landscape. Throughout his career, Thompson held key roles in launching and managing leading publications including U Magazine, The Sunday World, and The Irish Farmers Journal. He also served as the Chief Executive of Associated Newspapers Ireland and Managing Director of Independent Star Limited.
In partnership with his family and friends, DCU Business School created this scholarship to continue his legacy of leadership and innovation in communication and marketing.
