Now that you understand the value of coconut oil, let’s examine the stages involved in its production.
1. COLLECT COCONUTS IMMEDIATELY
You can scavenge the area for a few fallen coconuts. To remove the husk, you’ll need some large stones or pebbles.
2: SCULPTURE THE COCONUTS
The first step in husking a coconut is to remove the cap. This can be accomplished by tapping the cap lightly against the rock. Then, using both hands, strike hard on top of the coconut with the rock. After a period, the sides will develop splits and the husk will loosen. You can now remove the nuts’ loosened husks.
3: SQUEEZE THE COCONUTS
You may crack open the coconuts with a clean turtle shell. This is accomplished by gently tapping the husked coconut on the edge of a rock in a circular motion until the coconut cracks open.
4: COCONUT MEAT SHOULD BE REMOVED AND COLLECTED
Remove the coconut meat from the shell with a knife or other sharp metal item. You can do this using an old broken spoon.

Additionally, you can scrape the flesh from the nuts or remove portions using the broken spoon’s pointed end. To remove the chunks, simply insert and twist the broken end.
5. GRIND THE COCONUT MEAT
Grate the coconut meat using a stone. Pound the coconut meat chunks in the container with the stone to grate them.
6: COCONUT MILK EXTRACT
The next step is to separate the crushed meat from the coconut milk. You can add a little water to the grated coconut and combine thoroughly. Squeeze the milk out of the mixture. You can strain the milk from the mixture using your hand or a piece of cloth. Repeat two more times to extract additional milk from the remaining milk.
7: CONSTRUCT A FIREPLACE
Locate a suitable location for the fire and set two stones perpendicular to one another, leaving ample space between them. Then, using the milk-filled utensil, check for stones.
8. COOK THE COCONUT MILK FOR 8 MINUTES
Make fire with dried branches or dried coconut leaves. Maintain the milk-filled utensil in the vicinity of the fire. Coconut milk may come to a boil.

While the milk is boiling, you can stir it with a wooden stick or a piece of bamboo. Continue until all of the water in the mixture has evaporated. This may take some time due to the amount of water that must be evaporated. Once the oil begins to bubble on the surface of the heated milk, turn off the heat and let the oily milk to cool.
9. EXTRACT THE OIL FROM THE COCONUT MILK THAT HAS BEEN BOILED
After the mixture has cooled sufficiently, strain the oil from the mixture using a little piece of cloth about the size of a handkerchief. Then, with your fingertips, push the piece of fabric flat against the heated mixture. As you can see, the cloth is absorbing the oil from the mixture. After removing the piece of cloth and folding it in half with the right side facing up, squeeze the oil from the cloth into another container or empty coconut shell. You’ll note that the oil retains a significant amount of coconut meat.
10. SEPARATE THE PURE OIL
Allow the oil to settle, but after a few minutes, you will observe that the pure coconut oil is floating upward. When this occurs, tilt the container and gradually drain the oil into another container. You now have your pure coconut oil, which you may use for hair, skin, and cooking.
