Adebayo Salami Wife

In a recent interview with Tunde Kelani TV, renowned actor Oga Bello and his wife, Ejide, discussed their 45-year love story. He admitted in it that he wished to have only one wife, but that his hunger for other women prohibited him from doing so.

Read the following excerpts:

Does your wife claim you’ve known each other since elementary school?

Yes, we’d been friends since elementary school. Our outfit was a “pinafore,” and she or he had a few different methods of flaunting it. That’s how I became aware of her. As a result, if she does something wrong, I always discipline her. “You will clean the restroom,” I tell her frequently.
She would later purchase me meat pies from Kingsway and rice from Iya Congo, which is how we met. During our elementary school years, we became really close, but there was no emotional tie.

When did you realize you were getting close?

That was the year 1966. We are so in love with each other that we married in 1975. My Uncle was my childhood companion. So she wasn’t proud of what I was looking at one point. But I urged her not to worry about it. My Uncle Doesn’t joke with the rules. There were two stepmothers in my life. The one on the left sells rice, while the one on the right offers bean cakes. I’ll be able to get up early and scrub rice while washing beans for my second stepmother. If my 2nd stepmother doesn’t sell her moimoi, I’ll be able to sell the others (laughs). In addition, I sold rice. Later in the evening, I also went to gather water.

It was for this reason that my wife and I became so close. She always came to see me in the evening. She’ll assist me in fetching water and carrying it closer to my residence, where I’ll take it in.

Despite your youth, how prepared were you to keep it hidden?

As I previously stated, we didn’t realize it was love until we got started. There was no emotional connection at all. Don’t forget that when we were younger, you couldn’t tell your parents that you were in love with any lady or boy. So we decided that whenever we wanted to check in with each other, I would ride my bicycle and whistle. When she hears me, she understands and comes running to meet me. We didn’t have a phone, but we were ready to see each other whenever we wanted. Many people were always shocked that, despite our youth, we all knew how to give each other signals.
