About the WASCAL Scholarship
The West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) invites applications for its Master’s programs in Energy and Green Hydrogen (IMP-EGH) for the 2025/2026 academic session. This initiative aims to equip students with essential knowledge and skills to tackle climate change and energy challenges in West Africa.
Funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), this scholarship supports the development of future climate leaders by providing access to top academic institutions across West Africa and Germany.
WASCAL Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the WASCAL Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a citizen of an ECOWAS country, including:
Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo. - Hold a Bachelor’s degree (Second Class Upper Division or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- Have at least an intermediate level of English proficiency.
- Students from non-ECOWAS countries may apply but must be self-funded.
