Applications for the National Scholarship Program (NSP) of the Slovak Republic are now open. This prestigious, fully funded scholarship is available for international students pursuing master’s and PhD studies. It provides financial support covering living costs, with monthly allowances of up to 1,025 EUR.
About the Slovak Republic National Scholarship Program
The Government of the Slovak Republic established the National Scholarship Programme (NSP) in 2005 to promote the mobility of students, PhD candidates, university teachers, researchers, and artists. The program is funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of the Slovak Republic and aims to enhance international collaboration in higher education and research institutions across Slovakia.

Slovak Republic National Scholarship Coverage
The scholarship covers international students’ living costs, including food, accommodation, and other expenses during their study or research stay in Slovakia.

Slovak Republic National Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the National Scholarship Program, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Required Language: English or Slovak
- Eligible Countries: Open to students from all countries
- Eligible Applicants:
- Master’s students enrolled at universities outside Slovakia.
- Students who have completed at least 2.5 years of their current study program.
- PhD students enrolled outside Slovakia who have been accepted for academic mobility at a Slovak university or research institution.
Ineligible Applicants
The scholarship does not support:
- Students already enrolled in full higher education (bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD) in Slovakia.
- Individuals who have spent 12 or more months in Slovakia within the past 36 months.
- Applicants receiving scholarships from other Slovak-funded programs (e.g., Erasmus+, CEEPUS, or bilateral agreements).
Slovak Republic National Schloarship (How to Apply)
Follow these steps to apply for the National Scholarship Program:
Step 1: Online Application
- Complete the online application and upload all required documents.
- Applications and documents must be in Slovak or English (documents in other languages must be officially translated).
- Documents such as recommendation letters, transcripts, and diplomas must be scanned and uploaded.
Step 2: Submission
- Once all documents are uploaded, click the “SEND” button to submit the application.
- A hard copy of the admission/invitation letter must be sent to SAIA, n.o., Sasinkova 10, 812 20 Bratislava 1, Slovakia within three working days after the application deadline.
