Beginning in 2025, YSJU has officially granted Student Visa holders the right to work part-time during term time and full-time during holidays. - Work up to 10 hours per week during term time

Degree Level & Above (Undergraduate, Postgraduate, PhD)
- Work up to 20 hours per week during term time
- Work full-time during official holiday periods, in accordance with UK employment law

How to Verify Your Right to Work in the UK
If you secure employment while studying, your employer must verify your right to work. Follow these steps to obtain verification:
1. Download a Work Entitlement Letter
- Log in to your E:vision account
- Select “Confirmation of Work Entitlement”
- Confirm your personal and course details
- The letter will be sent to your university email
- Share this letter with your employer for verification
2. Verify Your Academic Dates
- Download your official PGT dates with vacations document
- This document confirms your course start and end dates, ensuring you meet work eligibility criteria
Work Opportunities in the UK After Graduation
Once you graduate from YSJU, you can continue working in the UK under two primary visa routes:
1. UK Graduate Visa (Stay in the UK for at least 2 years)
- Available for students completing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree
- Your course must be fully completed, with results approved by the School Assessment Board
- YSJU’s Visa and Compliance Team will notify UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI)
- You must apply before your current Student Visa expires

Next Steps After Graduation
Starting February 17, 2025, YSJU (along with other UK universities) will automatically provide a Course Completion Letter to all eligible graduates. This document confirms that you have met academic requirements and are eligible to apply for either the Graduate Visa or Skilled Worker Visa.

- For the Graduate Visa, apply only after receiving your full award and ratified results
