To qualify for the IMPRS PhD Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Eligible Candidates

  • Language Requirement: Proficiency in English (TOEFL/IELTS recommended but not mandatory).
  • Eligible Countries: Open to applicants from all countries.
  • Education:
    • Must hold or expect to receive a Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering.
    • Candidates with an excellent Bachelor’s degree (with research experience and a written thesis) may also apply.
  • Scientific Ability:
    • Strong academic performance, research potential, and scientific knowledge.

  • Internal Candidates:

The selection process is highly competitive and consists of multiple stages:

  1. Initial Evaluation
    • Applications are reviewed based on scientific qualifications and academic achievements.
    • Internal experts assess applications according to the applicant’s national education system.
    • Some applicants may be contacted for phone or Skype interviews.
  2. Faculty Review & Shortlisting
    • Applications that pass the initial screening are forwarded to faculty members for further review.
