EPFL Excellence Fellowships Scholarship Benefits
The EPFL Excellence Fellowships provide recipients with the following financial support:
- CHF 10,000 per semester
- Student room reservation in a university residence
- Certificate of Excellence upon graduation
The scholarship is awarded for a maximum of four semesters (three semesters for 90-credit Master’s programs). However, students must cover additional living expenses, including rent and daily costs.

To be eligible for the EPFL Excellence Fellowships, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Language Requirement: English proficiency
- Eligible Countries: All nationalities
- Academic Qualification: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a field related to EPFL’s Master’s programs.
- Academic Excellence: Strong academic records and excellent references are required.
- Exclusions: Students already holding a Master’s degree in the same or a related field are not eligible to apply.

To apply for the EPFL Excellence Fellowships, follow these steps:

- Submit Required Documents: Ensure that all documents are in English, French, German, or Italian. If not, provide a certified translation. Required documents include:
- Resume (CV)
- Certified academic diplomas and transcripts
- Cover letter (maximum 1,000 words) outlining academic background and career plans
- Contact details of three referees (who will submit recommendation letters)
- Copy of passport or national ID
- Residence permit (for foreign students domiciled in Switzerland)
- Recommendation Letters: Letters must be written by academic referees familiar with your work and potential. They must be submitted electronically through the application system.
