ZUEL Freshman Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the ZUEL Freshman Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Must be a non-Chinese citizen with a valid foreign passport.
Should have good character, a friendly attitude toward China, and no criminal record.
For Undergraduate Applicants: Must hold HSK Level 5 or above and have a strong academic record in high school.
For Master’s and PhD Applicants (Chinese-Taught Programs): Must hold HSK Level 5 or above with a university GPA of 3.0 or higher.
For Master’s and PhD Applicants (English-Taught Programs): Must have an IELTS score of 6.0 or above or a TOEFL score of 80 or above. Alternatively, students who completed their previous degree in English can submit proof of instruction in English.

ZUEL Freshman Scholarship Benefits

The ZUEL Freshman Scholarship provides the following financial support:

Full tuition waiver for the first year.
Free accommodation in a shared double room in the international student dormitory (valued at RMB 750/month).
Living stipend of RMB 1,500/month to cover daily expenses.
Comprehensive medical insurance worth RMB 800 per year.

From the second year onward, students may apply for continued financial support through the university’s Current Students Scholarship, which is awarded based on academic performance and personal achievements.
